Community Guidelines
Last updated 3 September 2026
Araujo Connect exists because a shared city, a shared mission field, or a shared saudade is a real thing to have in common. These rules protect that.
Do
- Be yourself — a real name and a real photo.
- Say hello with something specific. "You were in Contagem in 2004?" starts a better conversation than "hi".
- Take no for an answer, the first time.
- Report anything that feels wrong. It goes to a person, not a queue.
Don't
- Harassment. Repeated unwanted contact, insults, threats, or sexual messages to someone who has not invited them.
- Hate. Attacks on people for their race, nationality, religion, gender, sexuality, disability, or immigration status. This is a community of immigrants and returned travellers; that is not negotiable here.
- Selling and spam. No unsolicited marketing, no recruiting for business opportunities, no chain messages.
- Scraping or harvesting. Do not collect members' details, by hand or by script, for any purpose.
- Lying about who you are. Fake profiles and catfishing are removed on sight.
- Anything illegal, and anything sexual involving minors — reported to the authorities, always.
What happens when something is reported
A moderator reads it. Depending on what happened, the outcome may be a warning, removal of the content, or removal of the account. Serious safety issues are acted on first and explained afterwards.
You can always block someone yourself — Settings on their profile → Block. Blocking is immediate, mutual, and does not notify them.
